While attending the University of Colorado, I worked for a multifamily asset management company. After graduating from school, I spent a year
managing one of their apartment complexes in Texas. During this time, I saw firsthand the difficulties in finding the true market rent for an
apartment. The underlying idea for this website started to develop during that time. Starting law school at the University of Oregon forced me to put this project on the sideline, but now that I finally have the time I launched openapartmentunit.com. I look forward to creating an effective marketplace where renters benefit from discount rents, and managers benefit from increased occupancy.
